Level 1 Award in Manual Bookkeeping
An introduction to double entry bookkeeping including terms, documentation, petty cash, bank reconciliation, use of journals and the basics of VAT.
Level 2 Certificate in Manual Bookkeeping
Further studies in the principles of bookkeeping, financial services and payment methods, preparing and checking business documents, recording transactions in a bookkeeping system and preparing a trial balance and reconciliation.
Level 3 Certificate in Manual Bookkeeping and Accounting
Progression into management accounting, including accounting for stock valuation, fixed assets, prepayments and accruals, bad and doubtful debts and the extended trial balance. Production of financial statements for partnerships, not for profit organisations and sole traders.
Level 1 Award in Computerised Bookkeeping
An introduction to the basics of computerised bookkeeping including terms, setting up the system, processing credit and cash income and expenditure relating to customers and suppliers, cash and bank transactions and generating reports.
Level 2 Certificate in Computerised Bookkeeping
Further studies in the principles of computerised bookkeeping as in Level 1 with particular emphasis on the VAT system and returns, journal transactions and generating reports.
Level 3 Certificate in Computerised Bookkeeping and Accounting
Advanced computerised bookkeeping including accounting for stock valuation, fixed assets, prepayments and accruals, bad and doubtful debts and the extended trial balance. Production of financial statements for partnerships and the purposes of budgeting.
